Weldon Jewellers are a Dublin based family business specialising in fine diamond rings, vintage and antique jewellery, diamond engagement rings and diamond jewellery. We are leading experts in modern and antique diamonds, and hold GIA qualifications in diamonds, diamond grading, and coloured gemstones. We are also the world's leading experts on antique Irish silver.
We are a fifth generation family business, founded by James Weldon circa. 1895. Originally from county Kildare, he dealt extensively in diamonds, old Irish silver and pictures, until his death in 1951.
In 1940, his son James moved from Marlborough Street to our current location at Clarendon Street. He was a member of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, and served a period as Master Warden. He is pictured here in his flying suit, c. 1936
James's wife Joan continued trading from 1957; her sons Jimmy and Martin entered the business in the 1960s. In 1996 Jimmy was made a member of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, and in 2001 became Master Warden. Jimmy (below) is widely regarded as the world's leading expert on Georgian Irish silver. Martin is a specialist in antique Irish silver.

Jimmy's son Garret joined the business in 2000; he holds a BSc from DCU, and has studied diamond grading and coloured gemstone grading with the GIA in London and New York, and set up our in-house laboratory for analysis and examination of antique jewellery.
