Weldon Jewellers, Dublin, are specialists in fine diamond rings, vintage and antique jewellery, diamond engagement rings and diamond jewellery. We are also the world's leading experts on antique Irish silver. We are based in Clarendon Street in Dublin, and are open from Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 5.30pm.
James Weldon founded the business circa. 1895, coming to Dublin from county Kildare. He dealt extensively in diamonds, old Irish silver and pictures, until his death in 1951.
His son James started on his own circa. 1935, and in 1940 moved from Marlborough Street to our current location at 55 Clarendon Street. He was a member of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, and served a period as Master Warden. He is pictured here in his flying suit, c. 1936
James's wife Joan continued trading from 1957, her sons James and Martin entered the business in the 1960s. In 1996 James was made a member of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, and in 2001 became Master Warden. James (below) is widely regarded as the world's leading expert on Georgian Irish silver. Martin is a specialist in Antique Irish silver.
Garret and Colin Weldon (below) are the fourth generation of the family to join Weldons. Garret is a GIA Graduate Gemmologist. He joined the business in 2000, and has studied diamond grading and coloured gemstone grading with the GIA in both London and New York. Colin joined the business in 2005 and is a GIA qualified Diamond Grader and is currently qualifying to become a GIA Gemmologist so you can be confident that you are in good hands.
Weldons is the world's leading experts in the field of antique Irish silver, and for four generations have helped to build some of the finest collections extant. We travel the world to find pieces of the highest quality and utmost rarity.
We have been published widely in the national newspapers and magazines, including Aer Lingus's Cara Magazine, Food & Wine Magazine, The Irish Times and Irish Independent, Image Magazine, Image Interiors, Investor Magazine, and Ireland's Antique and Period Properties; we have also contributed on national television and antiques roadshows all over Ireland as experts in the fields of Antique Irish Silver and Jewellery, including a recent Roadshow in Farmleigh, Phoenix Park.
We also stock a wide range of silverware suitable for Christening gifts, wedding gifts, or any other occasion.
